Watchorn Christian School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Our Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL’s) are Mark Ozenbrook (Co-head teacher) and Shani Ozenbrook (Co-head teacher). There is also a Deputy Safeguarding Lead who is Rebecca Jennings (Teacher) and a Governor responsible for Safeguarding who is Stephanie Mccubbin (Acting Chair of Governors).
We believe that safeguarding children is everyone’s responsibility. All children are special and we work hard to provide an accessible and stimulating environment which cares for the diverse needs of all our children. We will do everything we can to protect our children.
In cases where the school has reason to be concerned about a child we may consult with the family or involve other agencies as appropriate. The school will not first inform parents of concerns in cases where a child’s safety may be further compromised by them doing so.

Early Help offer
At Watchorn Christian School we understand that from time to time family life can have its complications and sometimes families may need some extra help. To support and advise you at such times we have an Early Help Offer.
Click here for more information about our WCS Early Help Offer
If there any complaints relating to the Early Help Offer and provision for children and families, these will be dealt with in the first instance by the Senior Leadership team or Designated Safeguarding Leads then, if unresolved, by the headteacher. In the case of an unresolved complaint, the issue should be taken through the general governors’ complaints procedure.
